About Us
ERUMS Helping Hand was established in February 2020, inspired by the profound experiences of its founder, Erum Suleman, during a life-changing trip to Pakistan. While visiting remote villages in the Sindh region, Erum witnessed first-hand the extreme poverty and hardship faced by widows and orphans—some of the most vulnerable members of society. These individuals, often left without the protection of a patriarch, struggle daily to secure basic necessities such as food, shelter, and safety. Many widows and orphaned children are forced to venture into the mountains at night, seeking safety in numbers to protect themselves from the dangers that come with their vulnerable status.
Deeply moved by the resilience and courage of these women and children, Erum returned to the UK with a firm resolve to make a difference. Together with her daughter, Hazra Suleman and 2 other passionate women who shared the same values as Erum, they founded Erums Helping Hand, creating an all-female trustee team dedicated to empowering and supporting those in need. The organisation focuses on providing essential aid, educational support, and sustainable development opportunities to help widows and orphans in Sindh rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Through compassion, community, and commitment, ERUMS Helping Hand strives to create lasting change for those who need it most.
